Trade fair a big hit
The India International Trade Fair is a big affair in Delhi every year. All the road leads to Pragati Maidan during the two-week long fair. People cutting across age throng the fair in their thousands every day. On Sundays the number of people visiting the fair goes up to even lakh such is the charm of the fair.
For youngsters the trade fair is a big thing every year.

From buying things of their choice to gorging on delicious food items, they want to make the most of the opportunity.
Even youngsters from NCR regions make it a point to visit the fair. Girish Vashsist from Ghaziabad has been visiting the fair since the last three years. Said he, “The atmosphere is simply great in the fair at Pragati Maidan. Many people avoid coming here for fear of being pushed around, but I don’t think this is the case. You can’t avoid crowd in such fairs. You can see the enthusiasm among the crowd. I will come here again next year.” Seema Kohli, a teenager from Noida, who came along with her friends to the trade fair, was completely floored by the colourful spectacle. “You need three to four hours to enjoy the trade fair including enjoying scrumptious foods in the stalls,” said she. She enjoyed going to the Delhi and Haryana pavilion.
Some of the other pavilions which have become a big hit with the visitors are Afghanistan and Pakistan. People from Kolkata enjoyed visiting West Bengal pavilion which showcases among others Tagore’s contribution to Indian literature. “We came to Delhi specially for the trade fair because it is very popular all over India and is organised on a grand scale,” said Sujeet Bhattacharya, a resident of Salt Lake in Kolkata.
Even kids can be seen visiting pavilions one after the other without any sign of fatigue. “I brought along my ten year old daughter to the fair and she is enjoying every moment of it,” said Harish Khanna, a resident of Greater Kailash.
